Muscat Eyewear is a Polish eyewear monobrand selling customized corrective glasses and sunglasses, and offering eye examinations. The company operates several optical retail stores—13 in Poland and 1 in the Czech Republic—and also sells online through an eCommerce website. Experiencing fast-paced growth, Muscat Eyewear is constantly looking for ways to improve and scale the business, and needed a management system that could keep up with its growth ambitions.

A need for automation to grow and scale the business

Muscat Eyewear's storeTo manage its daily operations, Muscat Eyewear was using a system based on WordPress and Comarch Optima. The problem was that it could not meet their requirements and the growth rate they were experiencing. Therefore, Muscat Eyewear made the decision to turn to an ERP system capable of helping them work better and quicker. The team considered and evaluated several systems, such as MS Dynamics, Streamsoft Verto and Odoo. Odoo was the selected solution, as it stood out for its super quick implementation, open-source code and good value for money.

With the goal of automating tasks and processes, Muscat Eyewear started implementing and using Odoo in 2020.

“In my opinion, Poland’s eyewear industry is somewhat old-fashioned and could benefit greatly from a more modern approach to management. Many stores still don’t use dedicated software and miss out on valuable automation opportunities. As a result, our Odoo implementation could be one of the most advanced solutions on the Polish eyewear market.” - Michał Kuźmiński - COO of Muscat Eyewear

Transitioning to an all-in-one ERP in a couple of months

The transition and implementation of the new software went quite smoothly. As an open-source platform, Odoo could be configured with the valuable help of 4Biznes, an Odoo implementation partner, as well as by Muscat Eyewear’s own team—something that was greatly appreciated. Other softwares often require a one-year-long implementation, a waiting period that Muscat Eyewear couldn’t afford, being such a rapidly growing company. All things considered, Odoo’s management system was up and running within a couple of months, avoiding prolonged work disruptions.

Automating 70% of lens orders & increasing sales performance thanks to operational improvements

At the time, even though the Inventory module wasn’t fully adapted to their business model and the Accounting app still needed a few adjustments to comply with Polish tax law, the Odoo apps installed really made a huge difference for Muscat Eyewear. Offering a great value for money, with strong customization capabilities, the platform indeed allowed them to make many improvements in their operations, including:

Automating over 70% of all lens orders, thanks to the EDI integration with suppliers, which reduced costs and errors significantly

 Integrating with many vendors

Tracking each order smoothly and easily

Seeing the assignee for every action at a glance

Accessing valuable data and metrics regarding order processing

Improving the sale performance, with ⅔ of the tasks involved in creating sales orders eliminated

Automating tasks and processes paved the way for a prosperous future. Muscat Eyewear saved valuable time and improved overall performance—without needing to increase headcount.
