Here's a dumb one. Should I put business owners in Employee App; they are obviously are not employees! How do I indicate that they biz owners?

You could possibly use the 'Employee Type" field to indicate this, it is a dropdown field on the HR settings tab.
To modify or add values to dropdown edit employee_type in settings > technical >fields. You need to be on developer mode to access this
