Hi,

So the product is categorized in the POS (for example, as Plumbing). When you view all products in the Plumbing category it is NOT listed. However, it will appear if you search for the item.

Hi,

Check in the settings of the specific POS if you have typed "limit categories" with a default value that your products don't have.

1️⃣ Check POS Category vs. Product Category

  • POS uses “Point of Sale Category” (pos.category_id), not the regular Inventory/Product Category (categ_id).
  • Make sure the product’s POS Category is actually set to “Plumbing,” not just the regular product category.
    • In Sales > Products > Your Product > Point of Sale tab — check “POS Category.”

2️⃣ Availability in POS

  • In Point of Sale > Products, make sure:
    • “Available in Point of Sale” is checked.
    • If you have multiple POS sessions/shops, confirm it’s assigned to the correct POS.

3️⃣ Archiving or Published State

  • If the product is archived, it will still be searchable but not listed in category view.
  • If using website & POS sync, check that “Published” is on (some setups hide unpublished products from POS category browsing).

4️⃣ Product Type & Stock Settings

  • If your POS is set to hide out-of-stock items, and the product has zero stock in the POS warehouse, it won’t appear unless searched.
    • Check Inventory > Reports > Product Quantities for that item.

5️⃣ POS Cache Refresh

  • POS loads products into browser memory at session start. If you just added or changed the category, restart the POS session to refresh the product list.

test: Assign the product temporarily to another POS category, refresh POS, and see if it appears — if yes, the original category may have a hidden filter or hierarchy issue.

Hi,

  1. Enable "Available in POS" – Go to Sales → Products → Point of Sale tab and check if it's enabled.
  2. Check POS Category – Ensure the product is linked to the correct POS category under Point of Sale → Configuration → Product Categories.
  3. Restart POS Session – Stop and restart the POS session to reload product data.
  4. Unarchive Product – Ensure the product is not archived under Sales → Products.
  5. Verify Multi-Company & User Access – If using multi-company, ensure the product belongs to the correct company and user has access.

If the issue persists, try clearing the POS cache (Ctrl + Shift + R) or check the browser console for errors.

Hope it helps
