Hello All-

I'm wondering about the expected behavior for the following, as I have seen different things at different times.

Setup: I have a BoM with sub-assemblies. Let's say the total production amount is 100 units.

MO/1 is completed

MO/2 for 60 units of the final product is completed and a backorder is created.

Next, I scraped 5 units of MO/2-001 with the Replenish Quanties checkbox set as true.

Here's where I've seen inconsistent behavior. Two things have happened.

  1. MO/2-002 is increased to by 5 units to 45 units
  2. MO/3 is created for 5 units

Where are these rules defined? FWIW, I'd like to have Odoo follow #1.

Thanks!

I found the answer... Sub-assemblies are unrelated.

If we Scrap and Replenish Quantities, there are two possible outcomes for the replenished quantities - depending on state of the related MO.

Note: "related" means created from backorder.

- If there is no related MO OR the related MO is planned, Odoo creates a new MO.

- If the related MO is not planned, Odoo adds the replenished quantities to the open-unplanned MO.
