Hi There,

How Manufacturing accounting entries can be viewed in Odoo version 19. For example, if I issue the raw materials to the shop floor or production floor. Am I able to review the accounting entry.

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi,

In Odoo 19, you can view accounting entries generated from manufacturing operations if your product categories use real-time (automated) inventory valuation. To enable this, go to Inventory → Configuration → Product Categories, open the relevant category, and set Inventory Valuation to “Automated,” ensuring that stock input, output, and valuation accounts are configured. Without automated valuation, Odoo only tracks stock quantities and does not create journal entries.

When raw materials are consumed in a manufacturing order, Odoo automatically creates accounting entries that move value from the stock valuation account of the raw materials to the work in progress (WIP) account. When finished goods are completed, it transfers the cost from WIP to the finished goods valuation account. If work centers or labor costs are configured, these costs are also added to the finished product’s valuation.

You can review the generated journal entries directly from the Manufacturing Order (via the “Accounting Entries” smart button), from Stock Moves under Inventory → Reporting → Valuation, or by filtering Journal Entries in the Accounting app. If no entries appear, verify that the product categories have automated valuation enabled, stock accounts are properly set, and the costing method (FIFO or Average) supports real-time valuation.

Hope it helps
