In Odoo SaaS 18.3+ (Enterprise Edition), when performing Cash In/Out operations in Point of Sale, the user must manually enter the reason or description each time. There is no standard feature to predefine concepts (such as Petty Cash, Tips, Cash Deposit, etc.) and select them from a list.

If you want this functionality, you have two options:

    Customization – a developer can extend the POS to provide a dropdown with predefined Cash In/Out reasons.

    Third-party module – check the Odoo App Store, as some community/enterprise apps already provide this feature.

So by default, Odoo does not support predefined concepts for Cash In/Out, but it can be achieved with either customization or an external module.
