Hi,

we have encountered a very frustrating behavior and want to know how to prevent it.

  1. Lets say we have a website page talking about chickens called "Poule", since we made it french.
  2. We translate everything to English on the English website as described in the documentation, replacing Poule by Chickens.
  3. A while later, we want to add infos or correct typos (something as simple as adding a point to a sentence where it was missing) on the original page. Lets say replace "Poule" by "Poules", the plural form.

Problem : Then we get "Poules" on the English version too, instead of keeping the "Chicken" which was already translated.

I tried by using en_CA (English Canada) hoping that a different English version would behave differently, but no success. As soon as the main page is edited, all the languages have the same content in the language of the main page instead of keeping what they had.

Is this already known or is there something that can be done about it?

Thank you very much.
