As far as I know, Google does not take meta keywords into account for page ranking. They wrote a post on that 11 years ago: https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2009/09/google-does-not-use-keywords-meta-tag.html

Do you Odooers fill that field? 

Does Odoo use that for any other purpose?

In any case, it would be usefull to update the training video which insists on keywords being important for ranking.
