Hi, I am using Odoo Saas.

I use MTO route and 2-step reception, 3-step manufacturing, and Im trying to implement 2-step delivery.

On my MTO route, I want to set the picking for delivery to source materials from "Finished Product Room" and take it to "Output". But when I configure it that way, when I try to start a sale, I get an error saying no replenishment rule was found for that product.

For some reason, when I change the delivery picking source location to "Raw Material Room" it does work. However, when my picking order is generated, as you can assume, the source location is set as "Raw Material Room", and I need it to be "Finished Product Room".

Hi,

In your case, the error occurs because Odoo cannot find a replenishment rule that explains how stock gets into the Finished Product Room when the delivery picking is set to source from there. By default, the MTO route links the sales order to either stock on hand or a replenishment rule such as manufacturing or purchase, and since the Finished Product Room is not configured as the destination of any existing rule, Odoo throws the error. To fix this, you should adjust your routes so that manufacturing orders produce into the Finished Product Room instead of another location, and then configure the delivery picking to source from this same location. If you also need goods to flow through Output before delivery, you can create a push rule that moves finished stock automatically from the Finished Product Room to Output. With this configuration, the MTO route will correctly chain together the operations: raw materials are consumed, finished goods are placed into the Finished Product Room, and from there they are pushed into Output and finally delivered to the customer. This keeps the flow consistent and removes the replenishment rule error.

Hope it helps.

A couple of reasons this might not work.

1. On the 3 step manufacturing, Post production to stock move is achieved with a push rule. The products in this location would always be reserved by the operation, hence will never be available for picking to Output

2. The replenishment (MTO) is likely configured for Stock location and not at the post production location.

If you wish to always pick from Post production the suggestion would be

a. Set to 2 step manufacturing

b. Add a manufacturing route to Post production location.

ie when product is required in customer location, pick from Post production and push to output; if unavailable trigger a manufacturing operation

Updated

Raw material room has a pull rule to replenish from Stock location (part of multi step manufacturing route) which probably explains why there isn’t a replenishment error while creating the SO
