Since the layout editor in Odoo Mail template is restricted in certain ways, is it possible and easy to use a html file of a mail template made in another softwaretool such as in Mailchimp for your mailing campaigns in Odoo 10?

If you are in Developer mode, you can edit the message using code view <> in the toolbar. From there you should be able to copy and paste any html code you want to use. Some things may not carry over depending on how they are referenced locally or not, but can give you a good start.
Thanks, already figured it out. However, when implementing an HTML-code into the code view <>, the load time in the mailing app increases a lot. So some action is asking a lot of cpu. You know how that can be the case?
Hello! I was using this method a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly. Right now is not working anymore (in odoo 15 both times). Does anyone know what have happened with this? Thanks in advance!
