I have a hypothetical merchant who buys biscuits in cartons. A carton contains 12 pieces, but sells in either cartons or pieces. How do I configure the product such that a sales order can reflect a purchase of say, 2 cartons, 6 pieces (i.e 2 1/2 cartons)? thanks

Make 2 UoM from Warehouse -> Configuration -> Unit of Measures.. Set "Piece" as the reference of the UoM, set the "Cartons" as bigger than the reference with the ratio 12 (1 cartons contain 12 piece).. Now, you can sell the product in whatever UoM you choose as long as the UoM is still in the same category and you set the ratio right...

What is particularly interesting is how to do the inventory when products are bought in cartons but racks are counted in pieces AND cartons. Need help please!
