Hello !

I tried to install Odoo on my VPS but there is a problem between Odoo and Debian:

Odoo need Python 3.10 or 3.11 but impossible to install on my VPS

I have full access, so I don't understand...

When choosing between Debian Bullseye (11) and Bookworm (12) for your Odoo deployment, consider the following:

 Debian Bullseye (11)

  • Stability & Proven: Officially supported by Odoo across versions 16–18.
  • Library Compatibility: Most community scripts, Docker images, and guides are tested on Bullseye.
  • Security: Long-Term Support until June 2026.

 Debian Bookworm (12)

  • Newer Packages: Offers updated Python, PostgreSQL, and dependencies—ideal if you need the latest features.
  • Future-Proofing: Better choice for upcoming Odoo versions (19+), which may deprecate older libraries.
  • Official Support Coming: Starting with Odoo 18+, Bookworm builds are increasingly supported, though less tested.

 Recommendation

  • Use Bullseye for production setups today—it's fully compatible and stable.
  • Opt for Bookworm if you're starting a fresh deployment and want the latest software stack along with proactive future compatibility.
