Odoo 17 Community will not run after install

Question

Good afternoon,
I'm new to Odoo and was hoping to get a little help. I just added the community repository to my Ubuntu installation for a local machine. After the installation, it gives me an option to run it from the system menu, but when I do, I get nothing.

I have installed all dependencies, python 3 installed etc. Is there something I am missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi David, I think, the best way for a new Odooer is to install not from repository but from apt package like here https://www.odoo.com/documentation/17.0/administration/on_premise/packages.html [1]
