don't work like that: If you choose "create a new customer" you get the new organisation with additional new contact. If you link the contact to an existing customer, the new contact is only a lead contact name, but not a new contact at the company.

I think what Andreas Marpmann means it that the contact information for you Lead does not get converted into a contact under the company you choose to relate it to. So in his case, "Frau Doktor Dear" does not get created as a contact under "Firmenname".
Did you fix the problem? It's happening for me too.
