HI, my company is hosted by OpenERP. How do I know if I am running version 8?
When I look at the version number under modules it says I am using version 7.saas~3.1.0.
Is this the latest version

go to > settings and scroll down to the bottom under the about section you will find your installed verssion of Odoo
You can look at the main menu bar, on the top right button (it should be your user name button). There is a dropdown button with the 'About OpenERP' (or 'About Odoo' if recent enough) text. It opens a window with the information you are looking for.
Version 7 saas-3 is quite recent (a few month I'd say) but is not the last (last build is version 8.0 alpha 1, last saas release should be 7 saas-5), and version 8 will be released next month.

Will it automatically update to version 8 in a months time?
if your Odoo is hosted on Odoo.sh, then you still can get the update, not that automatic, nor manual either. the guys from Odoo will update your Odoo there.
