Contact Type Modifications

Question

Using Studio, is it possible to Change contact types, where the selections are Individual or Company to have it be Individual, Company or Vendor as the options and then have the information work when filtering etc?

Further, how would a person then use the IS_Company on CSV to import? IE, would IS_Company be 2 for vendors since Individuals are 0, companies are 1?

When I'm on the blank contact form in Studio and I click the element, it really doesn't give any ability to modify it.

We already have a field for vendors called supplier_rank that is automatically managed.
Create or import Vendors from a Vendor Menu to have this set initially, it will be given a value each time a Vendor Bill is created.
Contact type is used systemwide and a new option would be a considerable effort to re all the places in Odoo that rely on it.
