Business Scenario:

For a retail super market, we are planning to use Odoo 17.0 community edition.  There will be multiple sales returns in a retail super market due to different reasons.

For e.g., In the original POS bill, consider there are 10 items in total with each Rs.100/-.  Total Amount is Rs.1000/-.  If we apply a bill discount of 10%, then a new discount line gets added for Rs. -100 and the total comes to Rs. 900.

Customer completes the payment and checksout.

Now customer wants to return one item from this bill as the product was damaged. During this case, if the user selects the item to be exchanged, then the specific line item's value is created as exchange item for Rs. -100.

But this will be loss to the business, because the original product's value was only Rs. 90 (Rs. 100-Rs.10).

In this case how to apply the bill discount at Line Level or is there any other option to do this?
