Hello All.  I am hoping you can answer a few accounting questions for my accountant. If you don't know all the answers, I'd really appreciate if you could share the information you do know. It has been very difficult finding help with Odoo. I appreciate your time. 

Some brief background, we are a distributor of packaging supplies.  Some supplies are shipped from stock, some are drop shipped. We are one Odoo 11 CE.

1) Currently, inventory is not showing on the balance sheet.  If we switch the inventory valuation from "Manual" to "Automated" in the product categories, are other functions in Odoo affected? If so how?

2) Price difference Account  -Will this account record the variance between the purchase  price (actual cost)  compared to the standard price? If not what is it's function?

3)How is Inventory received with no purchase order how processed?

Stock Account Questions

Could you please elaborate on what and how these stock accounts are used for? How they function together for example. 

  • Stock Input Account 

  • Stock Output account 

  • Stock Valuation Account 

  • Stock journal entries

Regarding the balance sheet if your using manual options of evaluation methods you must create the journal entry manual otherwise the balance sheet will be affected 

In case you are using automated method odoo create the journal entries by default
