I am running Odoo 18 self-hosted and have setup an Incoming Mailbox for the following mailboxes, notifications, info and catchall. For Outgoing Mailbox I have setup up, info, bounce and notifications.

When I send an email to a lead using the CRM pipeline it logs it, when they respond it shows up, but I am unable to respond in a thread and have to send a new email.

The response Type is "Incoming Email" whereas when I am sending out an email from the pipeline its Type is "Comment".

Seems like I need the Incoming Email Type to change to Comment?

What can I do to fix this?

1. Enable Alias → CRM → Configuration → Settings → enable Custom Email Alias.

2. Incoming Mail Server → Configure IMAP/POP3 (e.g., leads@yourdomain.com) with action Create a new Lead.

3. Outgoing Mail Server → Add SMTP for the same email.

4. Set Alias on Pipeline → Go to Sales Team / Pipeline → set alias (e.g., leads@yourdomain.com).

5. Test → Send email → Lead auto-created in CRM

Thank you @Kamrul for your response.

Your changes have enabled me to get Leads in my CRM when we are emailed, but my actual issue has not been resolved.

When you are inside of a lead and you hover over a response from the Lead it will come up with a pencil on the right hand side so you are able to respond with the thread history, this isn't happening for me.
