When I close one Bank Account to open a new one, how can I record the transfer so I can reconcile the withdrawal piece (old) and deposit piece (new)?

Question

I created a Manual Journal Entry to link the closing transfer for the old account, but it doesn’t seem like I can link this journal entry to both:
The closing entry of the old account  The opening entry of the new account
Although the transfer is from the old account directly to the new account, it doesn’t seem like I can link this journal entry to 2 bank reconciliation items.

Odoo can only reconcile one Journal Entry with one Bank Statement line.
You need to create an INTERNAL TRANSFER via the Liquidity Account and Odoo will create the two Journal Entries that you need:

If you move $1,000 the Journal Items will look like this:

You can then complete reconciliation of both Bank Accounts.

The Transfer Account is configured in the Bank and Cash section of Accounting --> Configuration --> Settings:
