Operating in war zones and other low-resource settings often means connectivity is intermittent or absent. Teams still need a dependable information system to run field operations. This talk shows how we designed and implemented a distributed, offline-capable architecture that synchronizes multiple local Odoo instances with a central server, ensuring data consistency while respecting the operational constraints of hospitals and field clinics in conflict areas.

We will cover the key architectural choices for handling intermittent connectivity, conflict resolution, and secure data transfer, as well as the practical challenges of deploying and maintaining Odoo in environments with frequent power outages and unstable networks.

Beyond the humanitarian context, this distributed architecture has valuable applications wherever reliable connectivity cannot be guaranteed—such as in remote construction sites, maritime operations, or mobile field services—demonstrating how Odoo can ensure operational continuity even in the most challenging conditions.
