I want to be able to add pictures to an email template and see those pictures in gmail and hotmail.

The process seems to be pretty straightforward and I've seen examples working. Yet... in five installations I deal with (CE windows, 2xCE linux, CE googleserver and EE linux), I never got to see the images being rendered and people complain about that.

The installations were done by two different people and, apart from the EE, it was used Yenthe's installation script.

 Has anyone come across such problem?
