Odoo 16 subscription plan products set self closeable; option not available on customer portal

I have created a storable product, recurring for 1, 2 and 3 months.  Doing so does not offer a Self Closeable option.  

Is it necessary to create a subscription plan and add this product's recurring periods?  

I tested with 1 month - self closeable option does not appear in the customer portal.  In addition, in Kevin's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=a4kxEbCHk2M describing the feature, where he has set Self Closeable in the subscription plan, I don't see the option in his customer portal either.

How to enable self closeable for product subscriptions on the customer portal?
