Thanks for the advice but I have never used this module in the past (https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/12.0/dev_account_cancel_rights/). The only module (from memory) needed is "Cancel Journal Entries" and as I wrote, it works for old journals .... I "just" don't have access to this option in a new/recently created journal anymore!
