Hi all !
I have a DB with like 9300 products but the people using Odoo before didn't use the variant system and now i need to use it to make the website well !
I was wondering if there is a way to turn products into variants of another one in a fast way, i don't want to have to rework all the 9000+ products, if there is some way using python and excel or whatever ?

I'm not sure that is possible, but if you have them linked in some way (like the internal reference is shared or something else you do in your company to track the same product) you could create new variants using the info of the old products and archive the products using python.
Unfortunately it all has been created with differents External ID's :'(
Then maybe you can find a common part of the name?
Lets say you build tables and can make them with different wood or different paint.
Then maybe your similar tables (wich will be variants) share the same sizes and the name "table"?
